Tired of the same old birthday parties?  We’ve got something different for you right here in Westborough.  If your son or daughter would love to explore crafting materials that they don’t have at home, and treat their friends to a creative afternoon, then sign them up for a birthday party at Elsie Kaye Glassworks.

Jewelry Design Birthday Party - Ages 6-12

For the younger crowd, we’ll kick off the party with a fun glass bead lampworking demonstration, then dive right into the “bead bar” with gemstones, crystals, and hand-crafted beads of various colors so that each guest can design their own project. 

We’ll have plenty of popular projects available, including a memory wrap wire bracelet, a crystal or gemstone dangle, or a stretch bracelet with dangles. The birthday guest of honor can choose the project for the group ahead of time, and will have the opportunity to make 3 projects in honor of their birthday. 

Our trained instructors will walk them through basic design concepts and using techniques such as wire wrapping. To make sure all the guests get our full attention, we recommend a limit of 10 guests, but we can accommodate more if needed at a rate of $25 per extra guest.          

Glass Bead Lampworking Birthday Party - Ages 12 and up

With the teenagers, we really get into the hands- on glass bead lampworking!  We’ll start with basic instruction on safety and tools, the properties of glass and how lampworking works, using heat to shape the glass (annealing), and how to finish the beads. In this birthday party, each guest can make 3-5 beads during the party.  

Once they’ve made their beads, they move to the “bead bar,” complete with gemstones, crystals, and all the jewelry findings they’ll need to create their finished project. No experience necessary - we teach them to create the beads, design the project, and all the techniques to put it all together, such as wire wrapping. 

The birthday guest of honor can choose from popular jewelry projects such as stretch bracelets, memory wire bracelets, pendants, keychains or backpack charms - all complete with stamped discs, glass beads, crystals or gemstones.  Each guest will go home with their own handcrafted project, and the guest of honor can choose up to 3 projects. We like to provide all of our guests with extra attention, so we limit the teen birthday parties to 6 guests.

We’ll Take Care of Everything!

We’ve got all the materials and tools they’ll need, with wide color choices, so there’s no preparation ahead of time.  And the best part our birthday parties? No clean up! Feel free to bring in some treats of your choice - we’ll supply the paper products, so that’s one less thing to worry about. You are also welcome to bring in pizza or have it delivered directly to Elsie Kaye Glassworks. Have the birthday child bring some music of choice to connect to our wireless speaker to add music to the party.

All the Details You Need to Know

• Basic Birthday Party Package is $250.

• Premium Birthday Party Package is $300, and includes 1 party favor per guest, as well as popcorn and water/juice for the guests.
• Parties last for 2-2.5 hours and are usually held on Fridays 5pm-7:30pm or on Saturdays 4pm-6:30pm. However if you are looking for another day or time, please contact us at 508-329-8517 and ask about availability.

• All parties require a 50% deposit to reserve the date.
